Here’s your manual on how to use them to your advantage. 🔽

1. Find the perfect assets with Visual Search 🔎

Figma's Visual Search feature helps you find the perfect project design assets.

Instead of spending hours searching through files or scouring the web for inspiration, one can simply upload an image or screenshot, and Figma will instantly surface visually similar designs from your library.

For example, let's say you're working on a marketing campaign and need to find an image that captures the essence of your brand.

With Visual Search, you can upload a photo that embodies the look and feel you're going for, and Figma will show you all the similar images in your files.

2. Keep your files organized with Rename Layers 📛

Keeping your files organized becomes increasingly important as your design projects grow in complexity.

Figma's Rename Layers feature eliminates the hassle of organizing your designs by automatically renaming layers based on their content.

Imagine you're working on a complex UI design with hundreds of layers.

With Rename Layers, you can ensure that every button, icon, and text layer is clearly labeled without manually renaming each one. This not only saves you time but also makes it easier for you to navigate your files and collaborate with others.

This can save the development team time as they won’t have to re-organize or rename layers for relevancy.

3. Isolate subjects effortlessly with Remove Background.

Figma's Remove Background feature is a lifesaver when creating stunning visuals for your projects.

With just a single click, you can remove the background from any image, allowing you to isolate your subject and create designs that truly stand out.

The special thing about this feature is it isn't just for product photos

You can use it to create stunning hero images for your website, eye-catching graphics for your presentations, and more.

By removing the background from your images, you can create more focused, engaging, and practical designs that communicate your message.

4. Generate mockups in minutes with Make Designs ⌛

While this feature is temporarily unavailable as of writing this, it seems to be the real deal.

Imagine you have an idea for a new mobile app.

With Figma's Make Designs feature, you can bring that idea to life in minutes

Simply describe your vision in natural language, and let Figma's AI generate stunning UI mockups for you.

You can quickly create a visual representation of your app, even if you don't have any design experience.

For example, let's say you want to create a fitness-tracking app.

Just input a description like

"A clean and modern fitness tracking app with a dashboard showing daily steps, calories burned, and heart rate,"

BOOM! Figma's AI will generate a professional-looking mockup based on your prompt.

This allows you to iterate on your ideas quickly and gather feedback from stakeholders without waiting for a designer to become available.

5. Populate designs with realistic copy using Replace Text Content ⚡

Creating designs with placeholder texts feels disconnected from the real user experience.

Figma's Replace Text Content feature solves this problem by allowing users to populate the designs with realistic, AI-generated copy based on prompts.

This saves you time and helps you create designs that effectively communicate your message.

Users can create designs that look and feel like the final product without spending hours writing copy.

Suppose you're designing a website for a new restaurant.

Instead of using generic placeholder text, you can use the Replace Text Content feature to generate compelling copy for your headlines, subheadings, and body text.

Use DALL-E to generate a seamless pattern for a website background. The theme is 'underwater coral reef'. After developing, explain in one sentence how you'd adjust the color scheme to make it more suitable for a professional diving company's website.
