  • Say hello to PillBot™, a tiny robot you can swallow for a non-invasive gastrointestinal (GI) checkup.

  • PillBot™ cruises through your stomach, sending live video to your doctor

  • Clinical trials are almost done, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval is expected in 2025, US launch in 2026

Key Highlights 👇🏼

Endiatx, a cool medical tech company from Silicon Valley, just dropped PillBot™, a micro-robot that's about to change the game in gastrointestinal (GI) care. This little guy is so small you can swallow it like a vitamin, and it'll motor around your stomach, live-streaming the whole adventure to your doctor. No more invasive endoscopies!

PillBot™ is wrapping up clinical trials this year and is targeting FDA clearance in 2025. If all goes well, it will hit the US market in early 2026.

Endiatx co-founders Dr. Vivek Kumbhari and Dr. Alex Luebke even gave PillBot™ a live demo at the TED and Amazon MARS conferences by swallowing pills, showing how it can make GI care way more comfortable and affordable.

Endiatx wants to give PillBot™ an AI brain to screen for issues and diagnose on the spot. This could help catch serious stuff like stomach cancer early on.

  • Elon Musk spills the beans on X's next-gen AI chatbots, Grok 2 and Grok 3

  • Grok 2 is set to launch in August, promising major improvements in data filtering

  • Grok 3 is to arrive by the end of 2024, powered by a whopping 100k Nvidia H100s

Key Highlights 👇🏼

Elon Musk, the man behind X (formerly Twitter), just dropped some serious intel about the future of Grok, X's answer to ChatGPT. In a series of late-night tweets, Musk revealed that Grok 2 is slated for an August release, with Grok 3 hot on its heels by the end of the year.

Musk teased that Grok 2 will be a "giant improvement" in filtering out other AI models' outputs from its training data, a problem plaguing many chatbots. He also hinted that Grok 2 will "exceed current AI on all metrics," setting the bar high for this hotly anticipated update.

Musk saved the best for last, claiming that Grok 3, due out by the end of 2024, will be trained on a mind-boggling 100,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs. According to Musk, this beastly setup "should be really something special," leaving us all on the edge of our seats.

The promise of improved data filtering in Grok 2 could help address the growing concern over AI models training on each other's outputs, a phenomenon some have likened to a "human centipede effect." If Grok 2 can truly surpass current AI benchmarks, it could cement X's position as a major player in the chatbot arena.

  • Apple's Phil Schiller, head of the App Store, snags a seat on OpenAI's nonprofit board.

  • Schiller's non-voting role gives him insider access to OpenAI's inner workings.

  • The move comes as Apple gears up to integrate ChatGPT into iOS and macOS this year.

Key Highlights 👇🏼

Apple has tapped its App Store chief and former marketing honcho, Phil Schiller, to represent the company on OpenAI's nonprofit board. According to Bloomberg's scoop, Schiller will take on an observer role, meaning he can sit in on board meetings but won't have voting rights or the ability to act as a director.

So, what's the play here? By nabbing a seat at the OpenAI table, Schiller will gain valuable insights into the company's inner workings just as Apple prepares to weave ChatGPT into its iOS and macOS operating systems later this year. The plan is to give Siri a serious AI boost, allowing the virtual assistant to punt more complex queries to ChatGPT (with users' permission, of course).

Interestingly, no money is changing hands in this partnership—at least not yet. But down the road, Apple is expected to take a cut of ChatGPT subscriptions made through its platforms. It's a savvy move that positions Apple to cash in on the AI craze while keeping a close eye on one of the industry's hottest players.

But there's a potential wrinkle: Microsoft already holds a non-voting observer seat on the board that controls OpenAI. With both Apple and Microsoft in the mix, discussing plans with either company could get tricky.

  • LumaAI introduces the Keyframes feature in Dream Machine, enabling users to create smooth animations by defining start and end frames and manipulating various aspects.

  • Google's emissions rose 48% from the 2019 baseline, falling short of the 2030 net-zero target. High AI electricity demand and data center expansion outpaced renewable energy efforts.

  • Figma launches Figma AI, a suite of AI-powered features designed to enhance the design process by automating tasks, providing intelligent suggestions, and improving collaboration.

  • The Brazilian government banned Meta from mining data in the country to train its AI models, emphasizing the growing global regulatory scrutiny of data usage.

  • Eleven Labs reveals Iconic Voices, a feature that generates synthetic voices resembling iconic figures, creating high-fidelity, realistic voice models for various applications.
